Two projects successfully completed

EXARC had two adult learning projects running for two years from August 1st 2010 onward. These projects, Didarchtik & Zeitgeist, were about adult education in archaeological open-air museums. EXARC was the Coordinator of Didarchtik, and took an advisable role in Zeitgeist.
Dozens of people from 14 EXARC members have visited each other extensively, taking a look in each other’s kitchen...

Motivation Manual Didarchtik
Grundtvig Learning Partnership 2010-2012
Coordinated by Parco Archeologico didattico del Livelet

Looking back at the project as a whole

Looking back at the two years of Didarchtik, VAEE (NL) performed an evaluation, which included feedback from almost all Didarchtik partners. VAEE has been instrumental in evaluating each step in the project, for which many thanks. In our manual, prepared by Archäologisches Zentrum Hitzacker (DE), we gathered all information of what we learned during those 2 years.

EXARC Marketplace gets a boost

The EXARC marketplace is the showcase for our members’ skills – from ancient crafts to museum management, from education to experimental archaeology. Willing to take on commissions or consultancy?

An online glossary in 10 languages

One wish of EXARC has come true: over the past two years 15 members have cooperated in two Grundtvig Learning Partnerships (Didarchtik and Zeitgeist) and as one of the results from that, we now have got an online glossary with words we often use and cannot find easily in dictionaries.

Didarchtik cooperation successfully concluded

The meeting at Butser June 12th – 14th, 2012 focussed on teaching adults through themed products and artefacts. The meeting discussed how an education visit with organised activities for adult learners can be handled versus non-organised visits of adults...

Didarchtik update: Workshop in Val Senales, Ötzi’s hometown

By: Dorothee Olthof
20-23 September 2010, Didarchtik partners met in Val Senales, an idyllic valley in South Tyrol, close to where Ötzi the Iceman was found. Our host was Johanna Niederkofler, director of the archaeological open-air museum in the valley (http://www.archeoparc.it), supported by her enthusiastic staff...

Didarchtik meeting at Bäckedals Folkhögskola, Sveg

The two-year EU project Didarchtik aims is for the participants to visit each other to share experiences on didactics and teaching methods for adults in providing knowledge of ancient crafts and archaeological finds. By mid-June 2011, it was the turn to Bäckedals Folkhögskola to invite. It felt great to get this many curious guests from far away from many countries in Europe...

The third workshop of Didarchtik

The third workshop of Didarchtik was 7-10 April 2011 at the Bachritterburg Kanzach (Germany). It took place under a very good constellation. Compliments to the organisers, speakers, the living history groups and the 20+ participants from 4 countries. The theme was ‘living history’. The setting was a (re)constructed castle tower from the early 14th century...

Didarchtik meets in Calafell

November 16th - 17th, 2010 Less than two months after we started, Didarchtik already had its first ‘real’ workshop. It was well prepared by the local staff of the Ciutadella Iberica de Calafell – we had two intense days, with 23 people from six countries. Following an introduction at the Museu Casa Barral by the National Agency in Catalonia on European perspective of Adult Learning + Grundtvig programme...
